The board of directors of Friends of U.S. Military Families, Inc., are volunteers who do not receive compensation. The board meets monthly to determine donation recipients.

chase clelland, president

Chase Clelland is the Vice President of Operations in South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee for Grow Financial Federal Credit Union headquartered in Tampa, FL. Prior to accepting the role at Grow Financial; he served as Business Development Manager of AlliedBarton Security Services, Market Manager of Cintas Corporation, Plant Manager of Cintas Corporation and Service Manager of Cintas Corporation.

Clelland attended The American University in Washington, DC and received his Bachelor of Arts in German from the University of South Carolina. Clelland has also graduated from the Southeast Regional Credit Union Management School held at the University of Georgia.

Clelland serves on the board of directors for Friends of U. S. Military Families, LLC a national non-profit that serves our military families in need, The Members Club in Columbia, SC, The National Association of Campus Safety Administrators Advisory Board and the USO of South Carolina Board of Advisors. Clelland is also the ex-chair of the Health, Safety and Security Committee for the State Chamber of Commerce, Company Advisor for the State Chamber of Commerce Business Week Program and is in the class of 2016 for Leadership South Carolina.

Clelland has been married to Emily for over 13 years and together raise a large puppy, Bruno, our Saint Bernard. He is an avid golfer and former soccer player. Clelland enjoys traveling as has lived overseas twice in his lifetime. He lives by the motto: Be Bold, Be Great and Have Fun.


Bill Cabeche, 1st Vice President

Bill Cabeche, is President of Bill C Insurance, based in Tampa, Florida. He specializes in medicare supplement and medicare advantage insurance, primarily for United Healthcare.  He also offers life, health and supplemental health insurance policies such as those offered by Aflac and Tricare.

Prior to starting his own company, Bill was part of Quorum Insurance LLC’s staff, where he helped spearhead the creation of Quorum’s commercial insurance department.

He has more than 30 years experience in insurance and financial services. Bill graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Manhattan College in Riverdale, NY, where he attended on an athletic scholarship and captained the Track & Field team in his senior year.

Bill and his wife Cathy have lived in Tampa since 1986 and have 2 sons, one working for the Department of Labor and the other is a commissioned officer in the US Navy’s nuclear program.

Natalia Spratlen, 2nd Vice President

Natalia is a Regional Branch Manager for Y-12 Federal Credit Union Headquartered in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Prior to this role, she worked as an Area Manager for Grow Financial Federal Credit Union in Tampa, Florida. At that time she joined the board of directors for the Friends of U.S. Military Families, Inc. She was an active member of the community with the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce and the South Tampa Chamber of Commerce. In addition, she was a part of the MacDill Chiefs Golf Tournament Committee, the MacDill Alliance Committee and was an Honorary Commander for the MacDill Air Force Base 2015-2017. She is currently a member of the East Tennessee Military Affairs Council. Natalia has a MBA and a Bachelors Degree in Education. She is a graduate of the Leadership Anderson County class of 2017 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Her favorite part about being a banker is seeing the positive impact in helping individuals and businesses to achieve their financial goals. Natalia enjoys traveling, reading and spending her free time with friends and family.


Christen Burden, Secretary

Christen is the Market Manager for Grow Financial Federal Credit Union’s MacDill AFB store. In addition to working closely with active duty and retired military members, she actively supports the base community by being a participant in the MacDill Alliance Committee, the MacDill Chief’s Golf Committee and the Military Commerce Committee with the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce. Christen’s personal interests include reading, writing, travel and teaching art classes. She also enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, which include her father who served in the Air Force.

Kent Paro, Treasurer

Kent retired from the US Navy after more than 30 years as a Navy SEAL Captain.  Having served with the best sons and daughters our nation can produce, he’s proud to be part of the Grow Financial Team and excited to serve as Treasurer for  Friends of U.S. Military Families, Inc. His involvement in the organization gives him the opportunity to continue promoting and supporting military personnel and their families.
