Organizations & Programs Funded by Friends of U.S. Military Families INC.

in 2017, friends of u.s. military families INC. was honored to help some worthy causes, which include:

Bay Area Legal Services

2017 was Bay Area Legal Services 50th Anniversary of providing civil legal services to the low-income individuals and families and other non-profits in the Tampa Bay region. They receive approx. 60,000 calls a year for services and close approximately 10,000 cases a year. Since Veterans are a very special population for BALS and a high priority, FUSMF proudly donated to their 50th Anniversary needs.

Columbia, S.C. - Blowfish Baseball Club

The Columbia Blowfish Baseball team is a minor league team based in Columbia, S.C. that celebrates a worthy veteran with its Hero of the Night and awards a military family with upgraded tickets and seats along with the service member throwing out the first pitch of the game. It’s a great way for our organization to continue to give back to a fun family event to those that are serving our country.

Crisis Center of Tampa Bay

In 2017, Friends of US Military Families proudly donated to the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay.  The Tampa Bay area has one of the largest veteran populations in the nation. In August of 2014, the Crisis Center and the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs joined together to initiate a help-line where veterans can receive both emotional support and linkages to community resources. Our funding supports a veteran peer who will collect, maintain and provide information on resources for veterans and their families, as well as emotional support when required.

USO - SC

Friends of US Military Families over the past several years has proudly contributed to the USO in South Carolina, since the opening of a USO station inside of the US Military Entrance Processing Command (MEPS) facility at Fort Jackson.  More than 10,000 new service members cycle through the Ft. Jackson MEPS station each year.
