Honor flight west central florida

The Honor Flight West Central Florida (HFWCF) is a Tampa, FL based non-profit organization, whose goal is to transport America's Veterans to Washington, D.C. at NO COST! While in Washington, D.C. the veterans visit the memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices. Priority is currently given to WWII and Korean Veterans, along with those other Veterans who may be terminally ill. Each veteran has a guardian for the day to tend to their needs and assist them with loading and unloading the aircraft and bus transportation. The Friends of U.S. Military Families is honored to continue their relationship with this non-profit and recently had two board members join Mission 45 to Washington, D.C. On the mission were 76 veterans, 76 guardians and several volunteers from HFWCF.

Stop Soldier suicide (SSS)

SSS was created by three Army veterans, who after losing friends and fellow service members to suicide were determined to create a solution for their fellow veterans who were struggling. It was clear that something had to be done - proactively - to get their brothers and sisters in arms the help they needed and reduce the number of service members and veterans lost to suicide. Through their experiences, they realized that the key to preventing suicide is to identify, understand, and address the underlying issues BEFORE they escalate to a point of crisis. To date, Friends of U.S. Military Families has donated over $50,000 to SSS.
